Rules & Etiquette

Respecting the rules and etiquette of Windmill Heights Golf & Country Club ensures the safety of all golfers, while making the day more pleasant for our members and their guests.

Cellular Telephones

Mobile devices should be set to the vibrate mode at all times and may only be used in the case of an emergency. Use of a cell phone for voice communication is restricted to the front of the Clubhouse, the Locker Rooms or in the Club parking lot. The sending and receiving of e-mails or texts is permitted throughout the Club grounds. On the golf course, the use of electronic communication devices should be discrete and must never affect the pace of play.

The use of a handsfree headset is completely prohibited anywhere in the clubhouse or on the golf course.

Pace Of Play

The length of a round of golf is a question of respect and consideration towards all other golfers. A maximum of four hours and ten minutes for a four-ball game is acceptable. We ask all golfers to please keep pace with the group ahead. In social play, adopt the rule of ‟ready golf”, keeping in mind players’ safety. Slower groups should not hesitate to allow groups behind to play through.

Divots, Pitch Marks & Bunkers

All golfers must replace divots, repair pitch marks on the putting greens and rake sand traps after playing their shots. Please leave rakes in bunkers after use.

Cart Regulations

Pull carts should never be pulled on greens or tee boxes.

Please adhere to the regulations of the day for the golf carts given by the starter on the first tee (90°, rough and cart path only, etc.). Golf carts must remain on the cart path alongside all putting greens and tee boxes.

Golf carts must remain on the cart path for the entire length of all par-3 holes. Avoid driving over the compacted areas of the rough were wheel marks have been left by other carts.
